What to do in Cape Town.
-
Cape Point Peninsula & Penguins
Book a tour, or drive yourself. Admire the Simon’s Town Penguins, visit the Cape Point Lighthouse, cruise the world-famous Chapman’s Peak pass, and see some of the Cape’s most charming coastal communities.
-
Hiking
Some of our favorites include the Pipe Track, Hout Bay Corner, Newlands Forest & Skeleton Gorge/Devil’s Peak, Platteklip Gorge, traversing Table Mountain’s Contour Path, and Lion’s Head, of course!

Be a Tourist!
Ride the iconic Table Mountain Cable Car, Book a Sunset Cruise for an unforgettable view of the city and her mountains, Visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was held for 27 years, take a Game Reserve excursion for a ‘safari’ experience, Paraglide off of Signal Hill, Take a Culture Tour, immerse yourself in the Two Oceans Aquarium, etc.

Beaches
Cape Town’s beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world: Camp’s Bay, the Clifton Beaches, the Bakoven Rocks, go surfing at Muizenberg (R170 for 1.5 hr wetsuit and board rental), walk on Long Beach, Penguin Beach, the views from Sunset Beach or Koeberg Nature Reserve beach on the strand… wherever you go, you can’t go wrong!

More wine farms!
Just 20 minutes from the city center you’ll find Constantia, where some of our favorite wine farms sit: Steenberg, Buitenverwachting. Constantia Glen, Beau Constantia. Groot Contantia is cool too - SA’s oldest wine farm!

Dining
When it comes to food, Cape Town delivers.
A few that we love: Brass Bell in Kalk Bay, Mantra Café or Lily’s for brunch, RootBar or Kauai chains for quick & healthy, Cafe Paradiso for hearty meals, Il Leone Mastrantonio, Villa 47, or the Cousins Trattoria for Italian, Bouchon Bistro for tapas, Giovanni’s Deli on the go, Ouzeri greek, Butcher Shop & Grill, Kyoto Garden, Bobo’s, Burger & Lobster, The Blowfish on the Strand for views, Salsify, Tintswalo, or La Colombe for fine dining, the list goes on. -
Golf
For the golf lovers, Alistair will argue that South Africa’s golf courses are elite - some of his favorite courses around Cape Town include: Steenberg, De Zalze, Erinvale, Pearl Valley, and Royal Cape Town.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
One of our top recommendations, Kirstenbosch is an oasis offering dramatic mountain views paired with lush gardens that feature the Cape’s native fynbos and more than 7,000 plant species. Go for a long walk, or bring a blanket, a good book, and a picnic.
