OUR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
WHERE TO STAY
We urge you to book your accommodation early to ensure availability, as December is a popular time to visit the region. There are many kinds of accommodations available in the area to suit a variety of budgets, needs, and preferences. We have recommended a few below, but please look online to find the best option for yourself. If you are not staying on site, we urge you to stay in the towns of Stellenbosch or Franschhoek so that you can make use of our shuttles.
FOR THE WEDDING
-
Boschendal Estate
Of course, staying on site will be our top recommendation! Boschendal hosts various cottages on the estate which sleep between 2 and 12 guests. They have two restaurants, a deli shop, picnics, and wine tasting on site. When you book, please mention that you are attending our wedding for a group rate.
-
Centre-Ville Guest House
Located right in Franschhoek proper, it is walking distance from their main road where you can find shopping, eats, and art. The guest house is nearly 120 years old and offers a very warm, rustic hospitality. Say hello to their resident dog, Quando, for us!
-
Skyview Manor
Skyview Manor is a charming guest farm just 5 minutes down the road from Boschendal. They offer stunning views and a hospitable stay in colorful, quaint rooms. It is not located in town and is for those seeking a rural experience. Breakfast and dinner available on-site.
-
Le Quartier Français
Le Quartier Français is a Leeu Collection property located in Franschhoek proper right on the main road. They offer an immersive luxury experience on the property that checks every box, from the food, to the spa, to the linens. -

Franschoek is a small town. Anywhere in the region / town would be suitable to stay. Feel free to check other options nearby!
-
Stellenbosch Hotels
Stellenbosch is a nearby wineland town with many hotel and guest house options, it is actually closer to Boschendal than Franschhoek, but we just love Franschhoek!

CAPE TOWN
-
The Vineyard Hotel
Offering an oasis in the middle of Cape Town’s southern suburbs, the Vineyard has been one of our favorite places to go over the years for afternoon tea and a garden walk, or for a fabulous dinner. (We had our first date at the restaurant here).
-
The Table Bay Hotel
The Table Bay was opened by South Africa’s late former President and icon, Nelson Mandela. Located in Cape Town’s bustling V&A Waterfront (a tourist hotspot), you will find 5-star hospitality, stunning views, and walking proximity to a number of restaurants, shops, and cultural experiences. We highly recommend a Mountain View room!
-
The Rosedene
The Rosedene is a quaint guest house located in Cape Town’s Gardens neighborhood. It is just minutes way from Cape Town’s famous Lion’s Head, the Cable Car, and only 10 minutes from Camp’s Bay beach. They are African art-forward in their design, and walking distance to many restaurants. Say hello to their resident cat, Monkey, for us!
-
The Steenberg Hotel
Steenberg is one of South Africa’s oldest farms, about 15 minutes from Cape Town’s city center. In addition to their own award winning wine, they’re close to a number of other Constantia wine farms. The golf course is stunning (one of Alistair’s favorites), the food is fabulous, and the rooms are light and airy.
-
Cloud 9 Hotel
Nestled at the foot of the magnificent Table Mountain, in trendy Tamboerskloof, Cloud 9 is right in the heart of Cape Town. The Hotel is within easy walking distance of the hip & vibrant Bree, Kloof and Long Streets with their many shops, restaurants, bars, clubs & cafes. (One of Alistair’s clients!)
-
Cape Town Marriott Hotel Crystal Towers
Downtown from the City Centre & closer to the winelands, the Crystal Towers are settled beside a palm-lined canal and boasting views that stretch out towards the majesty of Table Mountain. right next Century City.
